RULES AND REGULATIONS
As Enacted By the Grand Body
Act 1. All Offices shall be declared vacant during each Annual Convention, which shall be held from September 15th to
the 20th (inclusive) each year.
Act 2. No one shall serve in an active office after an Annual Convention unless he or she has been duly elected or re-elected
to such office.
Act 3. Each and every temple must submit a full and complete financial report monthly; same to reach the Home Office on
or before the 15th of each month and said report must be signed by the Grand Sheik, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Act 4. Each Temple must remit Three ($3.00) the first month, and Two ($2.00) each month there after to the support of
the Home Office
Act 5. No official is eligible to fill an office unless he has proper credentials; same having been issued by the Supreme
Grand Advisor.
Act 6. The assemblage of the representatives of the various Temples throughout the United States; Said assemblage being
on the date set forth in the Rules and Regulations, may be termed “ The Grand Body” or “The
Grand Major Temple”.
Act 7. The Supreme Grand Advisor and Moderator alone shall issue Charters, Ordination Papers and Credentials.
Act 8. The Supreme Grand Advisor and Moderator shall over-see all Temples throughout the U.S.A.
Act 9. The Supreme Grand Advisor and Moderator alone shall have charge in handling of the Seals.
Act 10. The Supreme Grand Advisor and Moderator alone shall have power to make Sheiks and Sheikesses.
Act 11. The Supreme Grand Advisor and Moderator shall have the power and authority to choose his own help
Act 12. The Supreme Grand Advisor and Moderator shall have power and authority to revoke any and all Charters and expel
from office and prosecute any official who, in his view, teaches or conducts himself or herself contrary to the Rules and
Regulations as set forth by the Grand Body, or violates the laws of Prophet Noble Drew Ali, or the Laws of the Government.
Act 13. The Supreme Grand Advisor and Moderator shall have power and authority to prosecute to the fullest extent of
the law any official who receives money under false pretences or with-holds from the organization finance or property which
rightfully belongs to the Moorish Science Temple or any member thereof, or appropriates finance of the members or the Temple
to a cause other than the Moorish Science Temple of America.
Act 14. The Supreme Grand Advisor and Moderator shall be the Highest office of the Moorish Science Temple of America
and the Moorish Holt Temple of Science.
Act 15. Each and every official shall be governed by the instructions and orders by the Supreme Grand Advisor and Moderator
and the Grand Body.
Act 16. The Grand Governors shall have charge over all Temples in their respected States. Each Grand Governor Shall receive
instructions from the Supreme Grand Advisor and Moderator and shall issue such orders or instructions to all officials of
all Temples through-out his State; and all Officials shall and must carry out such orders or instructions as are handed down
to them by their Grand Governor.
Act 17. The Moorish Manufacturing Corporation shall submit to each Temple throughout the United States of America a quarterly
report of its financial standing, itemizing all monies received and all monies spent, and also stating for what the money
was spent, and the source from which the money was received; said report must be signed by the three (3) officials elected
for that purpose by the Grand Body.
Act 18. The Supreme Grand Advisor and Moderator shall have the power and authority to calla special session of the Grand
Body at any time he sees fit to do so, regardless of the rule set forth in Act 1.
Act 19. All merchandise 9printed or otherwise) bearing the Star or the Crescent, the Circle Seven, the Cycle or the Grip,
or the Name or Photograph of Noble Drew Ali, or the Name of the Moorish Science Temple of America or the Moorish Holy Temple
of Science shall and must be placed in the hands of the custodian, and may be issued only through the Supreme Grand Visor
and Moderator. Any Official found guilty of violating this Act is automatically discharged from office.
Act 20. No official shall print or cause to be printed literature of any nature which bears the name of the Moorish Science
Temple of America, the Name Moorish Holy Temple of Science, the name of Noble Drew Ali, nor any of the emblems of said organization
without first having received permission from the Grand Body through the Supreme Grand Advisor and Moderator.
Act 21. No Minister shall go out in the field and teach Islam without having received permission from the Supreme Grand
Advisor and Moderator or from the Grand Governor of his or her State.
Act 22. No member shall borrow money from another in excess of Ten ($10.00) Dollars.
